[0006] This invention, The Perfect Pocket Pill Dispenser (PPPD) is an 8-compartment, pocket-size plastic container used for storing, carrying, and dispensing pharmaceutical prescriptions and over-the-counter (OTC) supplements. The eight, individual compartments can be designated as Monday through Sunday with an eighth and spare compartment; or designated for up to eight daily doses of prescriptions and/or OTC supplements.
[0007] One advantage of The Perfect Pocket Pill Dispenser over non-portable pill dispensers is that the PPPD is portable and designed to fit comfortably and conveniently into most shirt and pants pockets, purses, brief cases, other hand bags and the like. PPPD’s exterior carrying case has been designed with smooth, rounded corners eliminating sharp edges and the fear of scratching, cutting or injury to hands and fingers. The PPPD has also been designed with compartments that are large enough to accommodate most any size pill, supplement, capsule or tablet, such as large multi-vitamins.
[0008] The Perfect Pocket Pill Dispenser also solves the flaws, dislikes and disadvantages of the other portable pill dispensers on the market today. The PPPD has four plastic, “sliding and removable” lids that are positioned over the width of two compartments each, making it easier to thoroughly clean each compartment and component. The PPPD takes the worry out of having plastic lid hinges that tend to split, crack, eventually break-off, and no worry of the plastic lids collapsing into the individual compartments.
[0009] Another prevalent advantage of the Perfect Pocket Pill Dispenser is not having any plastic clasps that are supposed to secure the plastic lids when closed, or the contents in place in each of the individual compartments. Pill dispensers that utilize a snap-shut plastic lid clasp per compartment to secure the lid tend to pop-open whenever dropped onto a hard surface such as a tile floor. The flaw in a lid clasp can cause the lid to pop-open and the contents to spill-out and scatter all over the floor, into floor grates, and under appliances, not to mention cleanliness. The Perfect Pocket Pill Dispenser resolves this problem as well by replacing plastic lid clasps with 4-sliding lids, an inner sleeve, and an exterior, pocket size carrying case with male/female connectors.
[0010] In addition, each lid has a stop-tab on the underside of the right-end, allowing each lid to slide left exposing the right compartment. Each 8-compartment pill container is designed with a tab-gap on the right-side of each right-side compartment to allow the lid’s stop-tab to pass through it exposing the left compartment, and by sliding the lid all-the-way to the right to remove the lid completely for easy cleaning and for refilling pills into both exposed compartments.
[0011] By closing all four lids, inserting the 8-compartment pill container into the hollow inner sleeve, then inserting those two units into the exterior carrying case and securing the two halves of the carrying case via the male/female connections, makes it virtually impossible for any of the pill or supplement contents to pop-out, spill, or scatter, even when dropped onto a hard surface such as a tile floor, sidewalk or driveway.
[0012] By unlocking the exterior carrying case’s male/female connection and separating the two halves, the user is able to access each compartment by pushing one end or the other of the 8-compartment pill container through the hollow inner sleeve, sliding the desired lid left or right, and exposing two, four, six, or all 8-compartments without the fear or worry of spilling-out the contents all over the counter or floor.
